Hotel Options Near the Embassy in Bogota?

Looking for a hotel near the Embassy....walking distance if possible. Need hot water, caja fuerte in room, queen size bed. I would like to find a place for less than $75/night if possible.

I stayed at welovebogota.com before but had to stay in the small bedroom. There was no hot water. The apartment itself was ice cold and very depressing. It was only $48/night I think. There is a master bedroom there for like $60/night that I did not see. Has anyone used it? Does the bathroom have hot water there?

I saw a hotel called Hotel Casa Americana which is directly in front of the Embassy, but cannot find any reviews on the place.

Actually there´s probobly half a dozen or more small hotels within a couple of blocks of the embassy. I stayed in one some years back but it has closed. They´re easy to find just walking in the area.

I have not made any reservations yet, but I got this information regarding Hotel Casa Americana, which is located directly in front of the American Embassy.
Price for a double room is $154K COP if paying in cash, 10% higher if paying with credit card. Price includes airport transportation, WiFi, free local calls, and breakfast. The rooms look OK on their site, but the building looks a little run down from the exterior. But then again everything in Bogota looks a little dingy to me.

They call it "Americana" but the website only in Spanish lol  Got to be kidding!

I was recommended to stay in some neighborhoods close to the embassy in bogota. Check out quinta paredes and centro narino. Those are suppose to be some decent areas close to the embassy.
