Vaccinations Update
« on: November 26, 2009, 08:00:03 PM »
Good news for you guys who are in the process of bringing a younger fiancee/wife to the US - starting December 14 the CDC will no longer require the HPV vaccination for immigration purposes. Previously it was required for female immigrants who were 26 or younger. So because of this more than likely your fiancee/wife will only need to have 3 vaccinations now instead of 4 (MMR, Tdap and chicken pox are the 3 that most people between 18 & 64 need).

These are the current vaccination requirements published by the Embassy in Manila:

 Mumps
 Measles
 Rubella
 Polio
 Tetanus and Diphtheria toxoids
 Pertussis
 Influenza Type B
 Hepatitis Type A
 Hepatitis Type B
 Varicella
 Pneumoccocal
 Rotavirus
 Meningococcal
 (Human Papillomavirus)
 Zoster
Any other vaccinations recommended by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Advisory Committee for Immunization Practices.

At least they deleted one of them…  :)

Don't know if they are requiring H1N1 now(?)

Yes but all the vaccinations listed are age specific - the only ones that are required for ages 18-60 are MMR, Tdap and chicken pox (Varicella). Here is a handy CDC immigration document that breaks down the age requirements for each vaccination - the chart on page 12 is very helpful.
