Married Two Years and Going Strong
« on: April 04, 2009, 08:06:21 AM »
Guys

I just wanted to let everyone know that on March 17th, my wife and I celebrated our second year wedding anniversary and I really could not have found a better women to spend my life with. In the two years we have been married there have been many obstacle's that many women in frustration , would throw in the towel and move on to the next guy. My wife has had to endure 8 months of her man being unemployed, renouncing her executive level job and move to a strange country only to be hit with the worst economic time in this generations history and the frustration of being a professional women that cannot find work. She has to endure my travel schedule for my job that averages me being gone away from home 2-3 weeks a month and even though she has gone through some bouts of depression, she handles everything with grace and style. She keeps a wonderful home, cooks some wonderful meals, takes care of our son, gets him to school, homework, etc and is a wonderful friend to my 12 year old daughter. Her family is incredibly supportive of our marriage and they treat me like the son they never had and would do anything for us. They took on the responsability of making the mortgage payment on my wife's home in Quito with no expectations of repayment, only that to insure that we have a home to live in when the day comes that we move back to Ecuador. My wife got her drivers license in 3 weeks after being here and took on the challenges of not knowing our city and just went out and made errors but always found her way around. She has few friends here because the Latinas she has met here she considers to be completely untrustworthy except her Friend Lidia from Pereira , who is a great friend to her. Having done this before, marrying the wrong woman and dating many Latinas from several countries , all with different cultural characteristics, I consider myself to be completely blessed that God put this women into my life. I still say there are so many failed marriages out there with Latinas, BUT, with patience and looking for the red flag and cultural compatability, I am proof that you can find a wonderful women out there. While nothing in life is a certain, I feel that even though we will continue to have bumps in the road just as all marriages do, that the determination, commitment to family and just a person with good values and a wonderful heart, that we will be able to maintain a strong marriage no matter what life hits us with. So I want to thank my Fernanda for being the special women she is  especially with all the bad women out there looking for a free ride. Bebe, Te Amo !!

I work far too many hours myself also.  I know its not helpful in a relationship, but in these times it's not prudent to give up your financial security (so far, I still get paid for that time).  How do you handle that with the wife?  How has she adjusted?  Congratulations on your continuing bliss.  I wish you many more to come.

CONGRATULATIONS!! I WISH YOU LOTS MORE TO COME!!!

Thanks All

I have a great woman by my side. She even insisted driving me to the bar last night to meet my buds to watch my TARHEELS put the SMACKDOWN on Nova. She wanted me to be able to enjoy a few adult beverages without worrying about the cops. Sol, I still enjoy looking at the pics and see some of your  PHAT Ladies from time to time because we all can enjoy a little eyecandy, right ? As far as the travel schedule, well, I have little choice at the moment due to my company letting some sales people go and I had to take over there territories, but my wife understands the need to keep in good standing with the company, so she supports me 100% and even though misses me when I am gone, she keeps busy around the house and talking to family . Sol, we are not going to have more children as  we have our son and daughter  and that is enough for us and they are great kids and get along very well together.Again thanks all for The kind words and if I can help anyone here , please just ask.

Congrats KB1! You're one of the rare ones that decided to look outside of Colombia after a miss-step.
I can relate to that.

That's awesome that you got a good woman who's got your back.  Life is so much sweeter when you have a woman who is on your team rather than your competitor.

Congrats KB for two reasons,

1.  On your marriage which is a good example to show to alot of guys who envision on having a mate from S. America and both you are your spouse are happy.

2.  UNC Chapel Hill 2009 Natl Champs. GO Heels.   It pains for me say that KB, you know I am a Clemson Tigers Fan.  But you guys are the best.

Congrats KB.

Thanks Everyone

It's a fun ride when you get it right , but man if you do not, it can be a real difficult experience. I have a friend who is having all kinds of issues with his fiance and I expect it will not end well. Seems most guys  get it wrong the first go around with a Latina and my hats off to the guys that get it right the first time as that is not the norm no matter how much people will tell you it is.
Anzer, it is great to call my Heels champs this year . The downside is that a special team like this one only comes around every decade or so, so next year will be a letdown of sorts. I wish I could have been down on Franklin Street Monday night to be in the middle of the fun as I was there in 1982 , 1993 and 2005, but now with family and work, just too much to do. GO HEELS !!!!
