Hi everyone
« on: March 09, 2009, 09:06:08 AM »
Just thought I'd say hi, how have you guys been? I hope everything is going well.
I'm currently in Mexico city, then off to Puerto Vallarta and after that it seems I'll go to Cancun :) ... thought I had more time to say hi but have to go now, I'll see you later!

I envy you going to Cancun, home of one of my favorite teams in the Mexican League, Atlante. It's been a dream of mine to see one of their games there some time.

My boss just spent some time at our office in Mexico City and told me some of the drug related violence had spread there.  I thought it was restricted to the border in Juarez.  How were things going there?

Be safe while there IV :)

Too much drug-related silliness keeping alot of people away from the beauty of Mexico and that's a shame.

Hi IV. Nice to see you posting again.

It really is a shame about the whole fear of Mexico thing. Mexico is a big place. Imagine if violence in Detroit and Chicago kept people from going to Florida and California. That's what's happening there. I hope they get it more under control soon.

I am actually very surprised (in a good way), so far it's even nicer than Guadalajara in my opinion, the people is more friendly, the place is cleaner, it is still a huge city and you have to be careful, but not as awful as I heard while growing up.

Then again I must admit people in Guadalajara did not like me much and looked at me kind of funny, so maybe they are just a bit more open minded and that helps me look at things with a more positive attitude, looking forward to visit the pyramids and yes, Cancun is going to be great!

First time in DF? How long you going to stay? Yeah, climb the pyramids.  See the museums in Chapultepec and the buildings on the campus of UNAM and the Zocalo. If you have time, see the Ballet Folklorico.........lots of places you 'have' to see. Mexico City has some beautiful building and art pieces....like this one: Sueños de una tarde de Domingo en la Alameda Central
