Cheapest way to call Colombia from the US?

What have you guys been using? I have been using a calling card which is more expensive to my girls cell phone than a land line. about 10 hours for 50 dollars.

This question gets asked periodically.  I've done a bunch of phone cards, the best (for me) of which has long been discontinued (STS Unlimited).

I have found the most reliable and cost effiicient to be "Yahoo Messenger With Voice".  Don't ask me what the per minute cost is to call.  All I can tell you is its cheap enough and reliable enough so that I never use calling cards anymore.

My wife uses it regularly to talk to her family in Colombia... it's cheap enough for HER to pay for it herself, so it MUST be a bargain!

I don't know if you have Ocean State Job Lot in your area (MA, RI, CT), but they have a card you can use for Colombia, it's $20 for unlimited one month of calling.  I can't remember the name, worldcard or something like that.  I always found good phone cards at Latin grocery stores as well. 

Also, when I had Vonage, they had an international package there as well.  I don't remember the details, but I think you could pick one country and get unlimited calling for a flat fee per month.  It was a few years ago since I had the service, not sure, but check out their website.

FWIW, ooma has it at ~4¢/min.  Hook it up to your existing home phone and internet.
If the other end has internet at home, get them an ooma device and the call is free.
