Hi,

well I am new at this, i have been in latinamerican cupid and have not had any luck there at all. Some of the girls there dont believe me when i tell them i am from the states, am latino, and speak spanish to them. Some tell me that they are really interested a few days after we start talking and that turns me off, and i dont talk to them anymore, probably me overthinking and thinking that they just want to hustle me for money.

What agencies are the most reputable? I was looking at Jamies agency and thinking about doing the 165 dollar deal they have there.

What do you experienced guys recommend? I would like to take a trip to colombia this upcoming year. have a great day.

You speak the language and can go down and blend in a little. Sounds like a major advantage in avoiding hassles and communicating with women around the city.

One reason I like to travel with my wingman is his decent spanish skills compared to my poor skills. I don't know what to tell you about the personal site. I'm sure plenty of guys used them and can give you advice. I'm not a writer or emailer myself. I just go down.

Jamie's Agency has a lot of good reviews and he sounds like a cool guy. From what I read he has some rules about staying in his lodging and such which I think you can also find on a PL search. I definiately think he provides an excellent service but just a note- I'd suspect it can get a little expensive so be prepared.

When I was researching the cities I wanted to visit I developed a list. It went Cali, Cartagena, Bogota, BAQ.

I'll post a link below that has a list of some agencies in Cali just so you can scan them if you haven't already. I'm more of a go out and meet them type, but I will rely on online personals and agencies as well to fill in time AND meet women that have clearly given strong consideration to moving out of Colombia. I'd consider the monthly membership to a personal sites and would even pay on a per meeting basis with an agency. I'm just not a big fan of packages and would never buy one.

If you can speak Spanish, why even mess around with the agencies? I don't think that I would want to limit myself to the women in any particular agency if I was in your situation. Do you have a lot of time to spend there? If so, I would pick a city and spend some time there getting to know it and the people there. Along the lines of what a poster here named Pablo does.

That sounds like you're having a modicum of success on LAC if you have ladies expressing an interest in you.  I would not equate their interest in you with picking your wallet.  I'd recommend that you continue chatting with them and getting to know them better.  They are most likely eager beavers because you speak Spanish.

Those advices are great, just an idea with the online girls though, why not using english to communicate? you could tell them you speak spanish as well (just in case their english is not that great and they get stuck), but by using english in your profile and to talk to them I think will be less likely they think you are not from the states, use it as a native language even if you know just as much spanish.

Now this is just my opinion, and girls in the site might not think like I do, but when I get a message from a latino, I actually have to think more than twice before answering, not because I "don't believe they live in the states" I couldn't care less if they lived in Mexico or Ireland, but what I am looking for is someone who comes from a different culture (or at least that was raised in a different culture), since I am not that compatible with my own or similar ones, so some of them might be like myself and you sound a bit too "latino" for them.

Once you are in Colombia or wherever you decide to go to look for your lady it will be very easy I am sure, just listen to this gentlemen, you can't go wrong with their advice

It seems to me that you have a major advantage over most. I found this site that I have used and met many wonderful people. I have never been asked for money by any of the women. Alot of them are from Peru, but there are many from Colombia, a few from mexico, brazil, the philippines etc. Check it out, I found this site because one of the past members recomended it. http://www.latinlovesearch.com

If your going to Barranquilla and winging it on your own and not using an agency, but would still like a guide who knows the city just to be on the safe side then shoot me a pm.  My brother in law would be happy to do it, I'm sure.  You won't find a more honest person to hang with.  Just a suggestion.

If your going to use Jamie's agency.....I've used Jamie's agency several times and he is definitely worth the money.  I can honestly say that he is willing to go the extra mile to help you out.  A++.  I don't have any complaints about him.

       Welcome to the board! Where to start? IMO, your main objective should be this:Meeting women. It doesn't matter with or without an agency.But at times I used all available resources, agencies, internet sites, even local newspapers. I wouldn't worry so much about how to go about it, just do it.
