yet another new guy #2

Hello everyone i'm new to this board as a member, but have been looking on for the past 1 1/2 or so. Its good to finally start taking the next step at finding my future wife. A little about myself, i'm 25 and live in the great state of Mississippi. I work as a commercial diver in the gulf of Mexico and currently just bought a home and have a stable work environment. I am on the heavy side so i figure this will be the one thing that will hinder my efforts but i'm not going to get discouraged and look forward to posting on this forum. Most of you i'm sure will tell me i'm to young to be looking else where for a wife but i'm not just looking because i'm tired of American women. its more that i think Columbian women are more attractive and more loyal to their families. Hope to hear from everyone and looking forward to the experience. i have posted on the intro forum for the columbian section and through some good advice ands some lovely pictures i was recomended that i check out the phillipines so im stoping in to say hello for the first time also ask a few questions. Ok well maybe only one question. What are some of the good places to visit in the phillipines and what are some agencies to go through to find good kind hearted women looking for marriage. Thanks guys. I plan to take my time to find the right person in the right country so hopefully all goes well. thanks for you time hope to hear from everyone.

Hi hook, welcome to the Asian Forum!

Just about any place in the Philippines is a good place to visit if you know someone who lives there. Otherwise, Manila and Cebu are the biggest cities with the most stuff to offer a tourist visitor.

About the only places to avoid are in Western Mindanao and the nearby Sulu Archipelago where they occasionally cut off the heads of foreigners or infidels.

Probably the best way to meet a good Filipina woman is through personal introductions from stateside Filipinos.

There are lots of agencies listed in the links to the left of your screen but I can't personally vouch for any. Also read up on the IMBRA law.

Hi again Hook. As I've said many times on these boards, find a culture you fit in with well, first, then start looking for women from that culture. Too many guys look with their little head, not their big one and end up just as miserable as they would have been marrying Mary Sue next door.

Ditto what Ray and Jeff said.  I am about 250# and it didn't stop me from finding someone.  Read the archives, lots of info.

If you know a Filipino you know potential candidates, otherwise try some of the chat sites, Cherry Blossoms, etc.  Don't be a stupid, many of these girls make a living off stupids.

Good to see you checking out the Asian Board! I think I caused a small riot over there for inviting you to check us out.  Some of us here were married to Latinas before.

What do you consider "the heavy side?" I'm pretty sure I was there when I met my wife since I weighed about 3 times more than her.  It doesn't matter to most Asians.

The Philippines is probably the most "Westernized," although not the most wealthy Asian country. Discovered by Ferdinand Magellan in 1521, it became a Spanish colony from 1565 until 1898. It was a US territory from 1899 until 1946. Under Japanese occupation from 1942-1945. Gained independence from the US in 1946. English is also an official language, although some ladies are not so fluent, but seem to improve quickly. Most Filipinos are Christian with about 81% belonging to the Catholic Church.

The cultures of various Asian countries are all different. I suggest you continue to check out Latin America and different Asian countries until you find your lady/ladies or a country and culture you like. Maybe you will focus on more than one country.
