Hi, Im new here too. I mean very very new like this is my first post. I have been (believe it or not) looking at these websites for around 10 years now. I still havent found my lifemate or soulmate, however you want to look at it. I am 42 yrs old now and have decided that I better get off the fence and do something. I decided that I want to travel to Colombia, maybe Medellin or Bogota or Cali, not quite sure. Should I go with an agency-tour? And if so who do you recommend?

Well, I see you have enough electricity to use your computer (or at least access to the internet), so I'm going to speculate that you aren't in Tulsa. Where are you from, if you don't mind saying?

I can't recommend any particular agency, since I've never used one, but a quick look through the activities here from a week or two ago should indicate one to avoid. How much hand holding do you need? How's your Spanish? Any experience traveling in Latin countries? (Taking a package tour to a hotel with English speaking staff in  Cancun, while nice, doesn't count as 'experience') Are you thrifty, a big spender or somewhere in between? Are you a 'go it alone' type guy  or like being part of a group? Do you want to get to know a few ladies via correspondence (letters, email, telephone, internet video conferencing) and go down to meet a couple/few of them after you know them somewhat, or just 'get on the plane'? These factors, and many more have to be considered to make a proper choice.

Welcome JR33 and okiemike.  I'm glad you decided to join the forum.

Okiemike......I'd take a look at Barranquilla also.  www.latin-wife.com is a highly recommended and trusted agency there.

Hi,

I'm also a new guy to this forum. Currently looking for someone that I met in Costa Rica but, if things don't work out I might go to Columbia to check things out.

It looks like a great place for information and other experiences that other users have.

Thanks guys for all your responses........I can tell that I am going to feel right at home here. Like I said I have flirting with the idea of heading south for around 10 yrs now. I used to belong to the LWL list but never really posted much. I just joined it again recently but have not seen much posting going on there. I like this forum much better.
Michaelb......I know very little Spanish so I think I would like to go with a group (at least the first time) or stay somewhere where there is other English speaking people there. I am not to hell bent on finding a wife right away. I just want to kinda get my feet wet so to speak and check things out a little before I dive in. I wouldnt mind going to the discos and doin a little salsa dancing (that will be a funny sight) and just kind of treating it as a vacation and then if I really like it which Im sure I will, I can go back and concentrate on meeting my future soulmate.
I dont know, these are just a few thoughts running through my head. All I know is I want to go to Colombia, just not sure when or where............

Get a passport.  Book a flight and make reservations with an agency or begin writing individual gals from the agency.  Have fun then figure out what you want, after you have seen for yourself.  After 10 years of contemplation it is time to take a real step.  You may be overwhelmed and confused but that is the first part of the process so get that part over with!

There are many different ways to go about the adventure, the important thing is to take the first REAL step.

Good luck sir!

F.T. told you the basic if you go with an agency they will have your back the whole time and they will also supply a translator. Learn some basic spanish first and true get a passport and buy a plane ticket send jamie some money and go. If you want PM anyone of us that have made the trip and we will give you the inside scope and help you with any of the basic things.  Good luck

Welcome guys.  Although relatively new here myself there is a lot you can learn from here.  I'm boarding a plane in March to Cali myself.

Good luck!

My little brother got his arm stuck in the microwave. So my mom had to take him to the hospital. My grandma dropped acid this morning, and she freaked out. She hijacked a busload of penguins. So it's sort of a family crisis.

Yup, my first trip.  I'm so excited if I was a dog someone would be smacking me on the nose with a newspaper!  I highly suggest listening and learning from the veterans on here.  They will give it to you straight, and their advice is invaluable.

I will definitely give a trip report when I get back.
