How many kids do you want to have with your wife?
« on: June 26, 2007, 03:16:33 PM »
For those still unmarried and those who have recently gotten together:  How many kids do you want to have with your new (or as-yet unidentified) Latin wife?

I think this is a good topic since many of us are 40's or older and many are marrying women in their 20's.  Most younger Latin women are going to want kids.

I was open to children, but was skeptical of a MOB marriage working.  We waited 3 years to start trying and had one child.

We have talked about two.  She already has a 5 yr old daughter and I have an 7 yr old son.  Grand total of 4............and then we call it quits!

We want 3.  Well, I want 3, and she said "at least 3".  I guess we will take it one at a time.  Her cousin just had a kid, and she is extremely excited, and talks about babies all the time.  We have even agreed on the names.  I very much want a kid as well, but will wait at least until we formalize the relations though, since she already has a kid, and going from 0 to 2 at the same time will probably be very stressful.

I'm 38 and my wife is 30 now.  We always talked about just 2...but more recently she's been talking about just having one and seeing how that goes first.  I think when she visited her friend in Pennsylvania...it kinda scared her by watching her friend's son, who everyone affectionally calls "Diablo".  I think he's 1 1/2 now.

We already have seven kids between us but she still wanted a child with me. However she was too old to carry a child to term and after four miscarriages even she became resigned to this fact.

I think I can afford to wait a while on the kids. :P

I'd want to hit the 5 year mark first since that's statistically the big hurdle. Who knows whether that will be a conflict. I would want her to get settled and learn the english without having to worry about kids. Depending on her education I might or might not advocate school, not to mention that I'd like to enjoy the first few years we're together without any extraneous concerns.  One thing I've always wanted to do was tour Europe with a significant other but it's never happened. I'd like to do that without having to worry about crying babies & diapers.

Anyway, I'd just want to start with one and see how it goes. I don't see myself with a brood.
