IT ISNT OVER YET!!! IMMIGRATION BILL IS STILL ALIVE
« on: June 12, 2007, 09:04:48 AM »
Folks- the immigration bill will not be dead until Congress adjourns.

If you are reading the papers, President Numbnuts is now involving himself in a last-ditch effort to drum up enough support to pass this bill against the will of the people.

You need to be calling your Senators as often as possible to let them know how you feel. Otherwise, amnesty will become a reality.

And-if you think that the illegals will ever pay all of those fines. . .

Think about how well the enforcement section of the 1986 amnesty was enforced. A future congress will remove the pay provisions because of it's "harshness."

Up to you, folks. Inaction now means a new amnesty.

Good advice William3rd...I said so as much last week.  On the hopeful side, DemoKrat Leader Reid showed a sign of weakness yesterday, saying that Bush has to whip the GOP senators into line before he reintroduces the Amnesty Bill aka Comprehensive End the Republican Party Bill.....definitely a sign of weakness.

Senator Kyle of Arizona MUST VOTE AGAINST THE BILL, otherwise this thing can pass, he is the most important GOP Senator....people in Arizona are quitting the GOP in the hundreds because he turned on the conservative base.  So, everyone pls call SENATOR KYLE - AZ besides your own senators...the fate of the USA as we know it hangs in the balance.

I'll be moving to Panama in short order if this thing passes both Houses!

Why would he vote against the bill he helped create, he is the one who is also still spearheading it?

Just to let you know FatherTime, Kyle voted AGAINST the bill last week, he is one of the prime reasons the filibuster failed by >>> 15 <<< votes!  ...that's right, Kyle "got the message" from his constituents last week...hopefully he won't forget it, but his recent comments cause me to worry.

Also, McCain's (pro amnesty) poll numbers are now nearing SINGLE DIGITS nationally via the Rasmussen Poll (the most accurate in the past elections).  AS OF TODAY, Fred Thompson is now tied with Giuliani..... Thompson is dead set against the Amnesty Bill.....This will hopefully help the waivering GOP'ers to toe the anti-amnesty line...remind them via your phone call, por favor!

Thanks for the info. Daytrader.  I would be very surprised if Kyl does anything to harm the chances of some form of this bill passing.  This would be a colorful feather in his cap, and I think he wants to be president someday.

I sent letters to both senators in California.  Here are the links for them.  It is very easy to do but I feel like it is a complete waste of time, in this ultra-liberal state!

wha the hell, i sent  a letter, doubt it will do any good,

Problem with the immagration bill you have, it’s a repeat of the 1986 bill that did nothing to stop the illegals from coming in, same open border. And it will do nothing to nail the employers who hired them.

Nothing will get funded, and it will be the same krap as before. You still have a porous border with a fence that goes half way, not enough agents to enforce anything, and no real enforcement to bust companies who hire the illegals.  What gets me is, they say they only come here to help their families, because there are no jobs, well, either fix your own country, or quit having kids you cannot support. im tired of paying taxes to send their kids to school, while my kids are in schools with one teacher for 35 students, and half of the time they speak spanish.

Liberals Stunned by Radical New 'AMNESTY BILL,
« Reply #7 on: June 12, 2007, 03:59:57 PM »
Interesting developments may be happening regarding the Senate Immigration Bill....The only way this thing can pass is if 22 Republicans join the DemoKrats...for that to happen, the Bill needs to have 'enforcement' and 'no amnesty'.   I checked out this website, it seems to be real, also was posted on www.freerepublic.com

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., June 12 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- In a shocking turn of events, a progressive coalition of conservative and moderate congressional leaders have come together to propose new legislation which would completely redefine the meaning of the word "amnesty."

In this newly proposed "AMNESTY BILL," illegal aliens would have 120 days to leave the US without any penalty or incarceration. In other words, "amnesty" does not mean they have the right to stay, but rather that they have the "RIGHT TO LEAVE" without consequence within the 120-day "AMNESTY PERIOD."

The most surprising aspect of this "AMNESTY BILL" is that it could actually work! Proponents focus on the penalty if the illegal aliens fail to take advantage of the "AMNESTY PERIOD." If the illegal aliens do not leave the US prior to the expiration of the "AMNESTY PERIOD," they will be rounded up, finger printed and deported.

Here is the key feature of the bill:

All illegal aliens who are identified and/or deported after the expiration of the amnesty will be FOREVER barred from future entry into the US. They will never be issued a travel or work visa and they will never be allowed to ever apply for US citizenship.

Faced with the real prospects of losing any opportunity to ever come back to the US, supporters believe that most illegal aliens will leave on their own. Most agree that this "carrot and stick" approach is specifically designed to expedite the process of deportation while significantly reducing the cost thereof.

Critics have rightly pointed out that this amounts to a deportation bill. Liberals have continued to dismiss the "deportation" option as too costly and impractical to be a realistic solution to this massive immigration problem.

However, proponents are quick to point out that a number of "think tanks" such as the Heritage Foundation have estimated the actual cost to the economy will be 2 to 4 trillion higher if the estimated 12M illegal aliens are allowed to stay or given a special path to US citizenship.

Both Sen. John Kyle and Sen. John McCain have been unavailable for comment.

Well- it isnt April Fool's Day soooo- maybe it is true!!!!

Couple that with enforcement of the 1986 plan and we are half way there.

Any comments from the pro-amnesty side of the house?

Kyle has been all over the media in support of the bill. A lot of times a senator will vote a certain way even though he is opposed for procedural reasons so that he can bring it up again. Kyle is one of the creators of this bill and he is pushing it hard - he needs to hear from his constituents that he is dead meat in the next election.

LMAO! Typical liberal spin.

First, try to pull the wool over everyone's eyes by claiming that it ain't AMNESTY.

Then, when you realize that people aren't as stupid as you thought when they don't buy your BS, try to make the case for AMNESTY...

Amnesty has emerged as the pariah term of the immigration debate, disavowed even by those who believe in its goals. But what are the alternatives to letting illegals stay? Deporting millions? Devising other punishments? Doing nothing at all?

Make it extremely difficult or near impossible to get employment, bank accounts, loans, health care, schooling, register cars, even public transportation (it's heavily subsidized by tax dollars) and other taxpayer provided services - and they'll self deport!
