To answer your quesiton, Mark
« on: June 08, 2007, 01:02:13 PM »
You asked me in my thread about the translation services that Jamie offered. I would expect that kind of questioning from a newbie, who was curious, not another agency owner. All the information you need is on his website, or better yet, call him and ask him how an agency is suppose to be operated. I take great offense to you asking me those questions, and won't be a pawn for you. If you want to broadcast your lower than low prices, go ahead, and stop playing games. I consider Jamie and his staff friends, and had a great time with them, and wouldn't hesitate to use his agency again. I've had my problems with your agency, and from checking your site, you didn't fix one of them. I'll leave it at that.

Chizz , I think you are over reacting , I am not using you as a pawn about lower prices, the issue was not about prices it was about "translation service", I dont know all the particulars about how his "translation service" works and that was what I was asking and giving you the opportunity to talk about another aspect of how proficient his service really is, I think you misconstrued everything, I was attempting to discuss this issue so you could expound on an issue that critical in Latin Intro, a lot of guys are interested but do not have good Spanish skills ,if you have malicious attitude people will be afraid to discuss these issues that are relant to the board and common good, I dint feel your decorum was appropriate to lash out and make a separate thread to target the issue you could have addressed it on the thread that existed or sent me a PM, I dont have to be in competition with Jamie, I am gainfully employed and set to retire in March so its not about economy for me, I think you over reacted

I don't think I over-reacted at all. Granted, the comment about asking how an agency should be run was out of line, and It was wrong for me to say that, but I don't think it's right for an agency owner to be asking about how much another agency owner is charging for services. I have utilized your services in the past, but not the tour. There were 3 important things that happened when I was using your agency that really upset me, and still has me upset. I have nothing against you personally, but I have my reasons for the way I feel. I'm not being malicious at all, and I don't know where you got that from, I address just about everything in my trip report, so I have no issue about talking about anything.

I think you are misconstruing my questions and misunderstanding the significance or intent, on this board thats what we do we put everything under a microscope, I wanted to further the discussion a little more about another aspect of Latin Introduction, that being "the translation service" never once did I mention prices and comparison and you went on an emotional rant, I personally feel you are overreacting, I enjoyed your trip report everyone enjoyed your trip report, I felt it would be a good idea that you could talk a little about the translation service to give us all a wholeistic view about Jamie's service and your experience with it, as an owner I concern my self with details that might seem insignificant to others but I always like to find ways to improve the quality of service from the customers perspective, I can take criticism and people dissatisfied with our service, I don't care what type of business you have , how long you have been in business you are always going to have some one that did not like your service, from General Motors to McDonald's, when me and Mudd hooked up in San Diego, he owns his own business and he expressed the same issue you will always get dissatisfied customers its a fact of life, you just say the customer is always right and make amends of the situation, the only time it should be an issue if everybody is starting to say the same negative remarks

Huh? :o  Why would an IMB be prohibited from conducting market research? It's a business. Competition. Pricing has to be gauged somehow. Or am I missing something here?

One things for certain: I would have canned this Luis jackass in a heartbeat had I such client feedback as mudd's. The guy sounds like a lazy, incompetent sack of guano.

His position should be filled by someone who's been screened for reliability, administrative skills, and work ethic. And this person should be a female for some obvious reasons; and they should be paid an above average wage, considering the number of tasks the owner has laid at their feet.

Yeah, Doom, you miss my point. But it no longer matters, as i've said what I had to say, and I'm done with it.

All this espionage-out-in-the-open could've been avoided by simply posing as a potential customer and speaking with the agencies directly instead of some client. I know firsthand that Market research consultants and firms do this all the time.

I wouldn't be surprised if some agencies provide "hidden" incentives their for loyal customers who write ecstatic reviews of their experience, and not-so-flattering reviews of others.

Calling up the competition or sending in a shill or talking to the current customers is fair game for checking out their operations and for comparing your operations to see if there can be some improvement or give a "leg up" in the sales game.
