While others and myself enjoy the freedoms that go along with a less structured environment there are some downsides. For example, tonight I am nursing my pinky toe with some ice along with my pisco because the dumbell came loose at the gym and fell on my toe...ouch! I saw them hand tightening the damn things...and doubt they have an Allen wrench. This would be a lawsuit waiting to happen in the USA but nothing obviously here.

Yesterday I was chatting with a latina who told me she was involved with gringo for a couple years. She got pregnant by him and he later ditched her and the kid. Again happens in the USA but there is accountability and laws.

I guess it is a question of taking the good with the bad....but I think i will take the USA despite the lack of young hotties willing to date the papi

Not nearly as exciting as a dropped weight, one of my workers was on his moto in el centro just a week ago. Nice moto 3.5million cop, and 2 other motos with 2 guys each (i know illegal) the guys on back had guns, cut him off in traffic (about noon) and put the gun to his head and took the bike. They left him his wallet and keys (empty wallet). From talking to him, i guess insurance does not cover theft??? Now that's the wild west.

Mecca, lack of insurance is a somewhat different issue than what I am talking about. For example, slip and falls. I bet not a dime is collected in colombia whereas millions are spent on lawsuits in the USA. To some degree, having accountability does serve some good. At least I would not have had the damn thing almost break my foot. So what kind of work do you have in colombia if you don't mind me asking?? Are you a gringo??

Papi, I was kind of asking a question. Because, from what he tells me yes he has insurance, but no they won't pay for the theft??? I have no idea. Yes, i'm a gringo remodeling a place in cali.

I see what you mean Papi. Not sure about Colombia, but I was in Mexico about 10 years ago and saw a couple walking in the hotel (cancun), there must have been a puddle of water on the floor cause she went down like a sack of wheat. Pulling her husband to the ground and you could hear the echo of her head cracking the floor. Well, I later saw them downstairs with the manager or man in charge arguing for some type of compensation, free room, etc. The hotel completely denied any form of compensation. What a difference, no?
