Medellin vs ....
« on: February 02, 2007, 07:56:37 AM »
seems to me that Cali and BQ get most of the play on the forum. With AFA expanding into Mde, I think the city is worth more discussion. In my opinion, medellin is a far nicer city and the women are absolutely gorgeous. comments? paisas? agencies? any new info? FYI, my cyber novia is a paisa

Having been to about every city in Colombia, in my opinion, medellin is a very nice city, great weather, clean, beautiful women, but every city in Colombia has beautiful women.

If I was just going to a city, because I liked the city, I would pick medellin, or some of the smaller cities that most people do not visit, Bucaramanga, Armenia,  Pereira ect, there are others, just naming  a few.  As for girls, they are all the same; I have met some bad ones in Medellin, just like in Cali, Barranquilla ect. So don’t think the girls from medellin are more honest and sincere than girls from Bogotá, Barranquilla, and Cali, even though, Cali girls have a real bad reputation, I have met some very sweet and sincere girls from Cali.

It all comes down to their way of life, their family and friends and their environment that they grew up in and family values,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, and screwed up parents make screwed up children, so if you meet a girl, better meet her family and know them well.  Seems 75% of agency girls come from divorced or broken up families, good idea to find out why.
just my .02 cents worth

Las Vegas- it really is a clean, happening and very beautiful city. The women are stunning. I like Cali for sports and find it more fun but Mde is impressive. Be sure to go to Las Palmittas in the nearby hills for the food and the vista but not on the weekends unless you don't mind crowds

Mudd- I agree. I have met some good agency chicas but many are problematic and tend to agree that women are women. I do feel the paisas are very attractive yet there are beauties in all cities

I have been to Medellin three times once in 03' and twice in 05', and visited two different agencies (1 is no longer is business). The women have that great Paisa accent although some folks hate it, and are quite a nice mix. But on average, they are much more concerned about skin color than women from Cali and other cities I've been to visit. I'm about the same complextion as the basketball player Tony Parker and found that most women prefered a white American. ??? Anyway, there's lots to do in the city so don't let some prejudice from women stop you from visiting if you don't have white skin, lol.

You are correct yet black guys can still get in on with paisas. I have seen it happen. But Cali and the coast are going to be more open to it. I don't really feel it is a show stopper. What agencies did you visit? CSH i presume. who else? Where to next?

Medellin has a lot less Blacks (and less mulatos) than Cali or the Coast.  I would not have the first hand knowledge of probability of a paisa dating a black guy, but I don't think it will be impossible.  Depends on how you present yourself, whether, black, white, or anything in between.

The city itself is a lot nicer, and Cali looks like a dump when you compare the two.

I visited CSH and this other one called True Love Marriage Agency which was run by this American clown. Anyway that one is defunct now so no need to comment more on it. I'm heading back to Cali this Spring.

It is not impossible to data a Paisa even if you are darker or mixed race. I dated a few women there but didn't seem to get the same type of vibes as I did in Cali. Anyway both from mine experience and a friend's who is darker than me, the consensus seemed to be Paisas were more concerned about skin color.

El ruso is right tho; even women from Cali say Medellin is the place to visit.

I will add that I only spent about 2 months there in Medellin, so maybe things would have been different if i was living there on a full time basis. :-\

RPCV,

Latins in general are concerned with color whether in Cali or Mde or anywhere.  They have a large number of grades of brown, and they will always start discussing with you at some point who is lighter or darker in their family.  It is not necessarily racism in a true sense, but they are very aware of the skin tone spectrum and their place in it.

What might be a case for a Black person in a place like Medellin, is that he will somewhat stand out, because there are not many Blacks in Medellin based on my observations.  Also the key to making a difference in meeting women is not how much time you spend there per se, but how you spend it, and what is your purpose.  If you can convince a woman that you are not there to "hunt for wives", or as a sex tourist, your chances of meeting a genuine girl will increase exponentially.  Now to develop a bona fide reason to be in Colombia and to find time and money to be there, is a lot more difficult  ;D  But if you can do it, it will defenitely be worth it.

RP, what is your gameplan for Cali??

Well, I've visited four of the agencies in Cali already, All Colombian Girls, Cali Charm, Latin Encounters and Cali VIP. (I wrote up some of my experiences in a trip report on here)

I've been communicated frequently with a woman I met in Cali during my last trip. She's 26 (I'm 36) and never married like me so I think that's a plus. Things are good so far but I'm being cautious and just taking it slowly. She's doing the same which is one of the many attributes about her that i like. She wasn't all aggressive at first like a few women I've met before. Those relationships tend to crash and burn fast. Her parents have been married for 33 years so that's a good sign too.

I call her at different times and she always answers the phone and is happy to hear from me. Still nothing compares to face to face communication, so my game plan is to spend time with her and try to see if we are truly compatible for each other.

i think i looked at your trip report awhile ago. Would you mind going into detail for me regarding your experiences with regard to LE and VIP? I'd really be interested in knowing how you feel about their service. Feel free to PM me if you don't want to post it.

Regarding your gameplan, seems like you have the bases covered. I can't really offer any more suggestions. If things do crash and burn like you say...i guess we can revisit the strategy. Maybe consider one of those large tours to cali since you have hitup the agencies or the online thing. I might dabble with Latin american cupid. Frankly, i think amigos sucks for the most part
