A Christmas Miracle?
« on: January 24, 2007, 06:13:07 PM »
I have posted here before about the necessity of patience for any American men ISO his latina. As many contributors here know, the search can take many trips only to be followed by many more passing months visiting your latina, then the endless wait for US immigration. I am currently in the waiting process and before my trip to see my negrita over Chrismas, I checked with USCIS as to progress, or more accurately, the lack of. Our papers were recorded Oct. 19, 7 weeks after they were sent which was very frustrating knowing 7 weeks had passed and the wait hadn't even begun yet. On Dec.6 I checked with USCIS and the site had been updated the day before and reported June 1 papers were currently being processed. That was very disappointing because I figured 5 more months before the October papers were processed. Upon returning from Barranquilla Dec.27, I decided to wait until Feb. before checking again because you know the watch pot never boils. To my surprise, Jan 9 I received a letter of visa approval and 10 days later notice from the National Visa Center that Bogota would be receiving her papers within the week. The USCIS website reports that they are now on July papers. Is their reporting that far off or did I receive a Christmas miracle? Perhaps some of you have been waiting as well and know the answer to this question. Regardless, my negrita and I are very excited as it looks like she will be coming in March.

I have a question regarding her trip to Bogota. She has no family or friends in Bogota so she will need a hotel for her stay during the visa process. Does anyone know of an inexpensive hotel close to the emabassy?

Since some of you have been posting pictures, I thought I'd include a few for your enjoyment.

I want to join others in congratulating you with your success.  I am not sure where US embassy is in Bogota, but you can check out hotel Cosmos.  I never stayed there, but it seems quite nice and was not expensive.

I can't answer your hotel question but I want to say congratulations on your very attractive lady. Your story gives me some hope about the speed of the fiance visa process. My fiance is convinced that it will take at least one year. I'm going to tell her your story.

Thanks William. Two questions:

1. What is the website that drm64 is referring to?

2. What does CSC stand for?

Great photos drm64... she has "that look" in her eyes that she is totally comfortable being by your side.  You look happy and peaceful as well.  From my experience, if you focus on being your best, and have great communication among the both of you, she will be right there with you.

I'm working on finding some books by Gary Smalley that are translated into espanol, my Cali Diamond wants to read them.  Here is a suggested list that you might consider reading together.  All of them are great.  Amazon.com  has them all.

# Love Is A Decision  by Gary Smalley
# Hidden Keys of a Loving, Lasting Marriage by Gary Smalley
# If Only He Knew: What No Woman Can Resist by Gary Smalley
# Secrets To Lasting Love : Uncovering The Keys To Lifelong Intimacy by Gary Smalley

CSC is California Service Center. I think he was looking at the JIT reports on the USCIS website. You can access the USCIS homepage and then even find your case by case number. An internet version of what they used to do with the automated telephone lines

FatherTime,

Thanks for the compliments. Actually, she is going to be 32 in April and I just turned 30 13 (43 for those who can't do the math). We met through Jamie's agency International Introductions. Of course I recommend his services as does she. More of the details are in my post "Finally got it right" posted back in June.

Congratulations on your relationship and thanks for sharing the photos!  Your woman is lovely, and you guys look like a nice couple.

As far as the immigration stuff goes, the premier site/forum for immigration info that I have found seems to be www.VisaJourney.com.

They have charts, statistics, and hundreds of other people contributing regularly to the board in various stages of fiancee/marriage immigration.

Good luck!

Very nice pictures DRM, shes very atrractive.

Here in the midwest, the wait for the VISA is over a year going on 18 months. Imagine trying to wait all of that time? ???

Thanks for all the compliments guys. I shared the photos as encouragement to newbies who are still contemplating making the trip.

Fuzzy, I don't think I am going with her to Bogota. We have talked about it. She feels confident about the interview and is always trying to save me money. We are still discussing the plans for her trip here. With every trip (6) when leaving Barranquilla, I have always imagined the day I would be leaving with my negrita by my side rather than leaving her behind. (OK I'm a sappy romantic!)

KP2, I can't imagine waiting 18 months. Maybe things will go for you like they did for me.

Its all a matter of where you live. . . . . NSC is the refugee center. I wonder what they are up to. Ever since King George was gearing up to invite a bunch of worthy Iraqis over a couple of years back, their fiancee processing has been awful. . . . .

Latest memo that I have from AILA is that they (USCIS) are moving more K cases to CSC to work. CSC is running right at 85 days based on my current case load.

Here in the midwest, the wait for the VISA is over a year going on 18 months.

I think those numbers are misleading. It is my understanding that for some time now all I-129 and I-130 petitions from NSC and TSC are being processed at California (CSC). If you submit your petition to Nebraska or Texas, you should expect it to be forwarded to California for processing. K-3 spouse petitions are all processed at the NBC in Missouri.

CSC’s latest processing time report shows I-129F and I-130 petitions received on 7/17/06 currently being processed, but those dates are often inaccurate.

William’s dates (3 months?) are probably as accurate as you can get or you can also find good examples of actual processing times at visajourney.com as L4W pointed out.

Now once the CIS finishes processing and the NVC forwards your paperwork to the overseas embassy, visa processing times will depend mainly on which country your fiancée/spouse is residing in.

So, being from the Midwest should not have anything to do with longer processing times and total times of over a year would be uncommon.
