If you do not already know, I started an experiment ordering email addresses from CaliCharm (
www.calicharm.com). I wrote several women to see how quick they responded, the reason they joined the agency, what they were looking for, and how well the process of writing someone before meeting them worked.
Well, to make a long story short, I emailed 7 women. I have been in daily contact with 2 of the women. I had 2 not respond, I talked with 2 for a while, but both turned out to be a little "strange", and 1 that just stopped writing.
All the girls seemed to be looking for the same thing: Love, companionship, and a family. They have revealed that Colombian Men do tend to mess around with other ladies and that they feel American Men are more faithful. A few had no interest in leaving Cali or their families, while others did not care one way or the other as long as they were with the man that they loved.
One girl I am writing already calls me her novio, the other wants to get together when I get there. I was honest and up front with all of them and explained to them that I was writing several women with the intent of meeting each of them when I arrived in Feb. Every girl was fine with it and appreciated the fact that I was honest about it. The girls range in age from 24 - 30. Some are students and some are professionals (lawyers, school teacher, etc) I plan on meeting the ones I am in direct contact with as well as visiting Calicharm and ACG at the mall for a few dates.
For the most part, I would recommend writing several women you are interested in a few weeks before you arrive. It is a great ice breaker and you can weed out the ones that are "undesirable" before you get there. Other than writing, I use yahoo! IM and a web cam. The girls have no problems with my broken Spanish and find it funny when I miss pronounce something or say a "dirty" word when I mean something else. (Not funny like laughing in your face, but "cute" funny)
I was also thinking about staying at the Calicharm house, but have since decided to stay with someone who owns a Condo in Cali and rents out rooms. I changed my mind about Calicharm because I was thinking about privacy. What if I got drunk one night and wanted to sleep in the next day? The Calicharm house is also an office, so I assume it would be pretty busy during the day with guys and girls hanging around. I met Gary (the guy who owns the condo) thru another board, check out his place at
www.lovecashusa.com/cali/condo/condo.htm. His Condo is located close to Chipechape (sp?) mall, approx. 10 blocks from Calicharm, and he has several different rooms with different prices. It is located in a guarded, gated community with a pool and he allows you the whole run of the condo....kitchen, living room, has cable, a/c, and the best part.....he lets you have guests over and they are allowed in your room for "sleep-overs"!
Never know, might get lucky!
I think ordering addresses are a good idea. (At least thru Calicharm) I had a very positive result and even if you do not meet the "one", you can make many friends and penpals. If anyone has any direct questions for me, please give me a PM.
